Continuing on from my thoughts on the Victorian era I know many women out there would disagree with my view. They strongly believe women are far better off today because of feminism. I disagree with that. In the Victorian era I've already said that though I have a fondness for the era I recognise it had it's problems. Especially for those who were poor and from the lower classes. But despite this the quality of life was still probably higher than it is now in one sense. Every one had a place, a role to play in society. In the 21st century the women's libber's began to cry out for 'freedom' and 'emancipation' from being trapped and tied to the home, kitchen, motherhood and from being the 'property of men'. They hated the thought of women having a specific role to play in life and wanted to do what THEY wanted and thought all women should do exactly what they wanted. But instead of freedom, the feminist movement bought bondage, confusion and emptiness. And as a direct result many women have been left feeling trapped in a world where women and femininity in women are no longer cherished and the role as mother or homemaker is no longer valued as it used to be. Feminists fought for freedom and emancipation from the drudgery of housework, raising children and 'oppression' by men! Full of self-will and self-centredness. It's was all about 'me, myself and I' despite the 'nobel' claims to the contrary. What the feminist movement failed to grasp was that there was a Higher Power than them who Created this world. He has created this world according to His Divine order. And part of His Divine order are the gender roles for men and women. But the authors of the feminist movement said to themselves 'who's God?'. Because they knew best. They sowed the seeds of feminism throughout the nation, calling it freedom. And now we are reaping the whirlwind. Freedom that rebels against God is never freedom. It always leads to bondage, confusion and eventually destruction.
