I find other people's lives fascinating. Everybody has a story. Everyone has a tale to tell. But how many people actually take the time to tell their own stories? Many people probably think their stories wouldn't be of any interest to others. I know I've thought that many a time! It seems like so many others have far more interesting stories to tell. So what's the point in sharing mine? Do you think that about yourself? Many people do. I remember someone who had had a horrendous life. She escaped from it and I remember her saying that even though there was a lot of shame involved, she wanted to tell her story just in case she could help someone else who was in a similar situation. Even if there was only ONE person who heard her story and was helped by it, that would make it worth sharing! So why not adopt that same attitude? If you have an inspirational story, why not share it with others? Or maybe you don't actually believe your story is all that inspirational, but you'd be surprised how many other people will think it is. If you've had any sort of experience in life, chances are someone else could either learn from it or be inspired by it. As unique individuals, all with different experiences in life, we all potentially have at least one life experience that others could learn from. So instead of seeing our lives as insignificant and uninteresting to others, maybe we should just be willing to share a part of it, just in case that ONE person happens to stumble upon it. After much deliberation I decided to adopt this way of thinking. I wrote my story (not all of it, but just part of it) just in case that ONE person happens to come across it and read it. So here is a little slice of my story. Although in parts it has been slightly fictionalized (as in a docu-drama) it is still based on true events.
