I read that there is a free offer for fathers at 'Smokey Bones' in the USA. Well personally, I'd never heard of 'Smokey Bones' but I believe the offer is for Dad's to eat free (up to $20) with the purchase of another meal on Fathers Day (June 20th) Sounds good to me! Good to see father's day at last getting a little bit more recognition. It's a slow start I know, but it's a start! For a long time now it's always been women who have gotten all the attention, as if women were more valuable than men. Whether it's been mother's day or health issues, men's issues have never been given as much publicity as women's. But men are just as important as women, and though some may not realise it, fathers are just as important as mothers. Over the years, the feminist movement has been hard at work vilifying men, undermining men and devaluing fatherhood but the truth of the matter is that every family needs a good father as well as a good mother. Despite the imbalance in the value we put on men and women in the West, it seems people are now beginning to wake up and recognize the important role fathers have in the family. And at risk of stating the complete obvious, let's remember - without a father none of us would have our lives today. So well done 'Smokey Bones', good to see an organization showing father's some appreciation.
